El Paso to Amarillo Movers

430 miles north on US-54 through Alamogordo and Roswell -- one Lightyear crew, the entire way from El Paso to Amarillo.

  • Send a quick video walk-through of the rooms and Isabela usually has a signed number back in your inbox before the 110-degree part of the afternoon hits
  • Rafael dispatched freight in and out of Fort Bliss for over a decade before he ever loaded a family's living room, and that same load-plan discipline runs every job today
  • Every truck rolling out of our Airway Blvd yard belongs to Lightyear Moving, and the crew riding in it draws a W-2 paycheck from us — we don't patch a busy week with day labor
  • A Socorro acreage gate code, a Westside high-rise loading dock, or a Horizon City lot still being graded — Diego routes around it before the truck ever leaves the yard, same as he's done since 2015
★★★★★From Canutillo to the Lower Valley, this crew keeps a full 5.0 rating

Tell Selena roughly how many rooms and which two ZIPs are involved, and a signed figure is usually waiting in your inbox before dinner.

Diego or Selena picks up, not a shared call-center script. Whatever gets quoted on that call is what lands on the invoice at Lightyear Moving — nothing gets padded on once the truck is already loaded.

430 Miles North, Straight Up the Texas Panhandle

Amarillo runs on a single highway the entire way — US-54 leaves El Paso heading north, climbs past Alamogordo into the high desert, threads through Roswell, and holds that same heading clear into the Panhandle. Emilio Chacon, who drives most of Lightyear’s long-distance loads, plans this trip around the Alamogordo climb rather than the miles that follow it. That’s the one grade on the route where an overloaded truck or a slow start actually costs time; everything past Roswell tends to run the way it’s supposed to.

For a smaller household, a one-bedroom or a compact apartment, Amarillo is comfortably a single-day trip. Once the inventory grows into a full house, our office builds in extra time on the Amarillo end for unloading rather than rush the crew through it after a full day of driving. That call gets made at booking, not improvised on the road.

Amarillo itself splits along fairly clear lines. A place near the older Wolflin or downtown area is quick work for our standard truck. Out toward the newer growth on the west side, the homes run bigger and sit further apart, and Isabela Duarte will size up whether that calls for the larger rig once the walkthrough is done.

El Paso to Amarillo Movers — FAQs

Does Lightyear cross into New Mexico on the way to Amarillo?
Yes, briefly -- US-54 clips the southeastern corner of New Mexico before continuing into the Texas Panhandle. Our USDOT/MC authority on file already covers that stretch.
Is a move from El Paso to Amarillo usually a single day?
For most households, yes. Full houses sometimes get an extra unloading window built into the schedule so the crew isn't working late after the drive.
What part of this trip actually needs the planning?
The climb out of the valley past Alamogordo. Once that grade is behind the truck, the run through Roswell and into Amarillo tends to be straightforward.

Built On A Decade Of Fort Bliss Freight

Dispatching supply loads in and out of Fort Bliss taught Rafael that a load that survives a desert convoy will survive a family's living room. In 2015 that standard became Lightyear Moving.

The Number We Write Is The Number You Pay

A San Elizario gate code, a Westside high-rise loading-dock window, a Canutillo lot the truck can barely turn around on — Isabela works all of it into the walkthrough, before anything is signed.

Paperwork Sent Same Afternoon You Ask

Ask and it's in your inbox that day: current Texas household goods carrier standing, USDOT/MC authority on file, plus a $1M cargo policy riding on every load, loading-dock manager or property office included.

One Crew, El Paso To The Other End

The same hands that load your boxes off Airway Blvd are the ones backing the truck up in Phoenix, Amarillo, Lubbock, or Midland-Odessa — nobody hands your shipment off to a stranger partway there.

What A Borderplex Move Actually Runs

Pick the size of the place and where it's headed for a starting range — a quick walkthrough of the rooms, the stairs, and any gate code on the property turns that range into the number Isabela signs.

Treat this as a starting point — a Horizon City lot still being graded, a Socorro gate code, or a Westside freight elevator booking can move the final signed figure up or down.

From Your First Call To A Crew At Your Door On Airway Blvd

  1. 1
Diego scouts the property before the crew gets named

A Socorro acreage gate, San Elizario's longer dirt-road stretches, a Westside high-rise's loading-dock window -- he runs it all down before anyone's assigned to your job.

  2. 2
What Isabela signs is what you pay

Video walkthrough or in-person visit, duplex or high-rise -- either way, most people leave with a real figure the same day, not a placeholder that moves later.

  3. 3
Your date holds on the calendar

A slow closing, a lot that isn't graded yet, a 110-degree afternoon that runs long -- none of it gets you a renegotiated price once Selena has your date booked.

  4. 4
Loading crew, delivery crew, same crew

Marcos and Emilio have backed trucks into tight Canutillo lanes and long Anthony driveways plenty of times, well before your job ever lands on the board.
